Be careful...

"Bin Laden was not a Muslim leader. He was a mass murderer of Muslims," Obama said. "So his demise should be welcomed by all who believe in peace and human dignity."

"Do not rejoice when your enemy falls, and let not your heart be glad when he stumbles, lest the LORD see it and be displeased, and turn away his anger from him." (Prov. 24:17-18)

  1. It's such an odd feeling to feel so grateful for a little peace for those who have lost loved ones at the hands of this man, and also to feel terribly sad for his very lost soul.

Thank you for posting this. Amen and amen.

  2. Funny, as I learned of everything this morning I was writing the prayer of St. Ephraim in a gratitude journal and then (non-apologetically), after reflection, hung up a flag.

    Prayers for all.

  3. I'm discovering there is no good word in English for the emotion Jennifer describes. A sombre appreciation that justice has been served, while not rejoicing in any death.
