I love The Screwtape Letters (C.S. Lewis) and haven't read it in a long time. As I was about to begin again, I looked online for some of my favorite quotes. [n.b. - These are letters written from a senior demon, "Screwtape", to his novice nephew "Wormwood" showing him the ropes.] I'll share a few here:
“A moderated religion is as good for us as no religion at all—and more amusing.”[source]
“A great human philosopher nearly let our secret out when he said that where virtue is concerned, "Experience is the mother of illusion.” [Oh boy, this is so true...]
“The claim to equality, outside of the strictly political field, is made only by those who feel themselves to be in some way inferior.”
“She's the sort of woman who lives for others - you can tell the others by their hunted expression.”
“[God] will not be used as a convenience. Men or nations who think they can revive the Faith in order to make a good society might just as well think they can use the stairs of heaven as a shortcut to the nearest chemist's shop.”
“Whatever their bodies do affects their souls. It is funny how mortals always picture us as putting things into their minds: in reality our best work is done by keeping things out...”

Good to see another fan of Lewis' Screwtape Letters.
Have you listened to John Cleese's readings? Here is an example on youtube:

Jim Forest wrote a "sequel" called, IIRC, "Letters from Wormwood" that was also good.
However, Screwtape is one to re-read now and then. Brilliant.
