Vintage Anagrams

At the bottom of my grandmother's truck my Father unearthed a box:

It is beautifully illustrated and in very good condition, considering the age. While there is no date whatsoever on the box, an online museum dates this game to 1890, making it about 123 years old. Anagrams is the forerunner of Scrabble, which Alfred Butts developed about 1930. There is a little more information about it here.

Shockingly, it appears to have most (if not all) of the wooden pieces inside.

Merry Christmas to me!! :)

You'd need a TARDIS to accomplish this one:

What I *didn't* do *this* year:

What with having a new baby and baptizing her I haven't had as much time to make as many handmade Christmas presents. :c( I more or less accept this, but it's still kind of sad. I'd like to think next year might be different, but I'm not sure how having a toddler around is going to make it better! I was thinking about the things I made for Christmas last year and I realized that I never posted any of them because I didn't want to spoil the surprise for people! So instead of posting what I did do this year, I'm going to post what I did last year.

Also I'm tired and brain dead and lazily looking at old photos.

Quilt for my niece, Ruth.

Quilt for my niece, Rachel.

...and matching pillow

Set of clothes for my goddaughter Julia's AG doll.

Knitted pants for her sister Sarah's CP doll.

...and nightgown

Crocheted balls for my baby nephew, Crawford.

I also made superhero capes and masks for my nephews, twins Peter and Andrew and little Milo. For some reason I can't find photos of them. (The oldest nephew, Gannon, got a book. (c; ) I made a lot of other things for various family members, not many of which I have photos taken. Hm.

This year, I just couldn't pull it off. I made small things for all the children in the family and had to leave it at that (except for the baking, of course). I'm working on being "ok" with that. After all, I can't do it all and I'm not superwoman!

First Communion

Miss Moppet's first communion was this morning! It was so wonderful to be at Liturgy again! The forty days are necessary and good, but I'm always ready to go back when they're done.

We were so blessed to have her godparents with us this Sunday: Matushka Mary and Deacon Ephraim.

In fact, Father was positively delighted to be serving with a deacon again! We think this is the first time this parish has had a deacon serve.

The girls wanted to take turns holding the baby during Liturgy, of course.

Look at those sweet little hands. :)

Waiting for communion...

First communion! She did great.

I got Mat. Mary to take a few pictures of me and the baby after Liturgy.

Glory to God!
