Yarn Along: Tiny Things

This week is all about tiny things. Yesterday I posted about this tiny knitting basket I made for Flopsy's dollhouse. (More pictures on that post.)

Mostly I've been working to get a batch of tiny hats for Calvin's Hats completed. I've had the majority of these done (except for embellishments) for a very long time, but I keep working on other projects. Time to wrap it up!

I did a bit of an experiment to make a bunch of hats using the same yarn and needles, but casting on different numbers of stitches. More about that on the Ravelry page. Here they are before embellishing:

And after:

Here are the rest of the hats:

The following were all made with crochet thread and either size 0 knitting needles or a size 7 crochet hook. The flowers (except the daisy) were made by me too.

This is the first time I am not just sending hats made by me. Ribby and Flopsy each made some and spent yesterday evening embellishing them in the living room.

I've spent the last several days working on the books I mentioned last week: the vintage science fiction.

One is Isaac Asimov's Foundation Trilogy. (Technically there are many more books in the series, but these were the original three.) I had no idea that the Hitchhiker's Guide books by Douglas Adams were a parody of these. (It's obvious they're parodies, but I didn't know specifically of what.) Anyway, very, very enjoyable.

I've also delved into Arthur C. Clarke's books for the first time. And no, I haven't read 2001, A Space Odyssey. The library didn't have it. I did check out The Songs of Distant Earth which was great. I definitely want to get more of his books.

One think I'm kicking myself for is only getting ONE of Robert Heinlein's books! Double Star was fantastic. I laughed out loud several times and was thoroughly entertained.

    1. Yes I know. :( I don't know of a place. Are you on Ravelry? You can ask on the Calvin's Hats group there. (It's still up.)
