Crocheted Censer Christmas Ornament

I had a few friends suggest demand that I make some miniature censers as Christmas ornaments, so I finally complied. I made the prototype today and jotted down the pattern. They're now in the shop!

Here's a comparison of the regular toy censer (left) with the censer ornament (right):

Baby pictures!!

30 weeks and 5 days today! Everything is going well and she's moving constantly. I got to see her stretching and yawning (and shaking her head) on the ultrasound this morning.

(That's the umbilical cord photobombing the picture of her foot.)

Smokey in the Doll Carriage

We don't have the kind of cats you can dress up in doll clothes and wheel around in a carriage. The older children have tried to put them in the carriage for Catherine to wheel around, but they (for some odd reason) distrust both her and the carriage and jump out as soon as they're not restrained. On the other hand, Smokey managed to relax and enjoy a good petting the other evening while the carriage was stationary.

Last chance!

The bidding for this crib quilt closes at 8 PM CST tonight! The top bid is $90 right now (retails for $130) so you would be both getting a bargain and helping out a family in need. Go HERE to bid!

A little nursery setting...

The following three tiny dresses were a custom order, but I decided to share photos of the photo set-up anyway. :) One day I need to get around to painting that little wardrobe.

And a little behind the scenes work. It's not easy making those tiny hanger with a 2-year-old "helping" on your lap.

Support the auction!

The crib quilt is finished and the auction site is set up!

"Bear one another's burdens and so fulfill the law of Christ." - Gal. 6:2
Galatians 6:2 is a new community on Facebook that exists for the purpose of raising funds for individuals in need. The organizers of the community auction hand-made items and then forward the funds to the selected charity. At the moment, all of us are Orthodox women but the community is not exclusive of others. Our first set of auctions is beginning right now!
We went live yesterday and already have six ten items up for auction. Every single penny we raise (minus shipping) goes to support the current highlighted charity, so have a look, bid on something, and share with your friends! There will be more items added on a continuing basis so there should always be something new. This is a great time to grab a hand-made item for Christmas while supporting a family in need.

Here are some photos of my current contribution, a crib quilt. It's all cotton including the batting, machine-pieced and hand-quilted and bound.

The proceeds from this current set of auctions all go to help the Sheldahl family with medical expenses.
